Cookie Policy
This page lists every cookie and similar technology MinKörkort uses, and why.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. Local storage works similarly but stays in your browser and is never sent to a server. Both are covered by this page.
Under Swedish law (lagen om elektronisk kommunikation) we need your consent before storing anything that is not strictly necessary to deliver the service you asked for. Everything we store is strictly necessary, so we do not ask for consent — and we do not show you a banner asking for something we do not do.
2. What we store
- mk_pending_activation
- Cookie. Remembers an activation code while you sign in, so you do not have to type it twice. Expires after 10 minutes. Not readable by scripts.
- mk.session_token
- Cookie. Keeps you signed in after Google sign-in. HttpOnly, Secure on the live site, SameSite=Lax. We set it; it is not a third-party login cookie.
- theme
- Local storage. Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. Stays until you clear your browser data.
None of these identifies you across other websites, and none of them is used for advertising.
3. Cookies set by our suppliers
Some cookies come from the services we use to run the site. These are also strictly necessary:
- Stripe (payments)
- Cookies used for payment processing and fraud prevention, set when you go to checkout.
- Google (sign-in)
- When you sign in, Google’s own pages may set cookies while you authenticate there. We do not load Google scripts on our pages. After you return, we only set mk.session_token.
- Hosting
- HostUp, which runs our VPS, may set a short-lived cookie for load balancing and security.
Your language is not stored in a cookie at all — it is part of the web address, so /en/ and /sv/ simply show different versions of the page.
4. What we do not use
We want to be explicit about this, because most sites you visit do the opposite. We do not use:
- Advertising or retargeting cookies of any kind
- Google Analytics or any other web or product analytics tool
- Social media embeds, share widgets, or tracking pixels
- Cross-site tracking, fingerprinting, or data brokers
If we ever add an analytics or error-monitoring tool, we will ask for your consent before it loads, update this page, and only run it if you say yes.
5. Managing cookies yourself
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings, and clear local storage the same way. Because everything we set is necessary, blocking it will break things: you will be signed out, checkout may fail, and the site will forget your theme choice. It will not stop any tracking, because there is none.
