Swedish driving licence FAQ

- Can I sit the theory test in English?
- Yes. Trafikverket offers the category B knowledge test in English. The signs, högerregeln, and much of the wording are still Swedish.
- Are these Trafikverket’s questions?
- No. The official paper is secret and protected by law. These are original practice questions, written from public rules.
- What is the pass mark?
- 52 of 65. The test has 70 questions in 50 minutes; five are trials and do not count.
- Do I still need Risk 1 and 2?
- Yes. Both parts of risk training must be valid before the theory test. Motorcycle risk training does not count for the car.
- How much does a Swedish driving licence cost?
- Typically 15,000–30,000 kr. Official tests and the card are a few thousand; lessons decide the rest. Use the cost calculator.
- I already have a licence from home — do I take the test?
- It depends on the country. Some licences are exchanged; others are not. Ages, fees, and the exchange rules are in the Guide.
- How long does full access last?
- 10, 30, or 90 days from the moment it opens. Progress stays on the account after it ends; paid chapters, the full sign bank, and mocks lock again.
